Message from the New Board Co-Chair, Nancy Roldán Johnson

Dear Friends and Partners -
 
I am excited to announce that earlier this month, I joined One Circle Foundation's tireless and devoted co-founder, Beth Hossfeld, in the role of Board Co-Chair.
 
I have proudly served OCF as a director since 2019, most recently as Vice President during a time of significant change for the organization and the collective world. In partnership with the board, Beth and I grew and diversified our leadership talent and strengthened our policies to adapt to increased demand and our new ways of working. 
 
Before joining the board of directors, I spent eight years as co-founder and CEO of Together for Latinas, Inc., a small, grassroots nonprofit whose mission was to celebrate and empower young Latinas by providing inspirational role models and powerful life skills. During this time, we developed the La Mariposa activity guide. I had the opportunity to move abroad with my family, but I worried about the future of La Mariposa. Together for Latinas lacked the necessary infrastructure and reach, so we began searching for a potential partner with the ability to distribute La Mariposa where most needed.  
 
We had been exploring the possibility of a partnership with OCF's founders, Giovanna and Beth; we understood that their mission, leadership, and values aligned with ours. We knew we had found the right home when they assured us that La Mariposa would be in the most careful hands at One Circle - the exact words we used internally to describe the organization we hoped to find. Today, La Mariposa thrives in Circles nationwide as part of Girls Circle curricula offerings. 
 
As we look to the year ahead and beyond, we are eager to execute our strategic plans and fortify our mission to best support our partners in providing effective and safe circles to every youth and adult in the US and beyond.

Nancy is the Co-Chair of One Circle Foundation's Board of Directors. For her work with Together for Latinas, she has been honored as a Woman of Distinction by the Connecticut Girl Scouts of the USA; featured in the November 2008 issue of O, the Oprah Magazine as a winner of their Women Rule! leadership contest; and recognized with a “Woman Making a Difference” award by Soroptimist International New England Region.
