Homelessness & Housing Insecurity – (Digital Session from All Together Rising)

For adolescents, living without or having inadequate or uncertain housing drains their energy, causes worry and stress, and impinges on their access to academics and social and recreational pursuits. Runaway youth, unaccompanied minors, LGBTQ+, youth of color, pregnant and parenting teens, those with special needs or disabilities, addiction in their families, or parents’ job losses are those most affected.

This supplemental session provides an informed discussion, realistic stories, time to share experiences, and to identify needs and local resources. It invites youth to generate strategies and action steps to address housing insecurity. Youth will walk away more hopeful that they and their peers can manage through difficulty as they feel secure belonging within the community of their Circle. Resources are provided. For use with Girls Circle, The Council for Boys and Young Men, or Unity Circle, and other group settings where safety has been established.
