The coronavirus has changed our lives for the foreseeable future. As we strive together to adapt to a new normal, One Circle Foundation is pleased to offer two new ways for you to learn how to provide Girls Circle®, The Council for Boys and Young Men®, and Women’s Circle® online: a large instructional virtual meeting, and smaller Community Circles. Please attend both!
The Virtual Meeting will give you information and tools. The Community Circle will provide you with a direct experience of being in a circle online. All events are currently full – check back with our training calendar as more dates are made available. Alternately, you may view the entire Webinar from May 6th.
VIRTUAL MEETING / WEBINAR:
This meeting is a one-hour instructional program designed to demonstrate various online tools and best practices to provide confidential and engaging online circles for youth and adults.
Using tips, guidance, and experience, you will:
Learn about Zoom platform tools including chats, polls, screen sharing, whiteboards, music, break out small groups, and more.
See how to maximize privacy protections within the platform settings
Learn Best Practices for Facilitators for holding online circles
Receive guidance on how to build safety and connection online
Consider how to address confidentiality and privacy for youth while also understanding that facilitators are not in control of the environment, and youth at home may have limitations on their control over their home environment
Following the instructional 60-minute portion of this meeting, we will have a 30-minute Question and Answer period.
VIRTUAL COMMUNITY CIRCLE Join One Circle Foundation trainers and team to re-connect during this challenging time and experience a circle online.
Find community as providers of youth, family, and/or adult services
Identify barriers to staying connected with youth during the shelter-in-place condition
Participate in simple activities using some online tools
Gain ideas for adapting activities to an online format
Discover how an online circle or council can offer engaging activities and safe relationships
This is a one-hour program, plus additional 30 mins available for Q/A.
NOTE: Both event types fill up quickly. We will continue to schedule as possible. Find out as soon as future dates become available by joining our mailing list.
